poem - Butterfly

I sit on a hill, watching the sky.
When a butterfly just happens by.
I struggle with emotions and then I sit
Up and gaze in amazement and wonder at it:
So strong, yet fragile.
So brave, yet afraid.
Majestic, but humble.
Graceful, yet awkward.
I reached up and plucked it out of the air.
Using my hands with the utmost care.
For if I were to touch its wings at all,
It would cease to fly and begin to fall.
It perched on my finger with daring ease,
In order to catch a passing breeze.
As it rose into the air, my emotions welled up again.
But I figured that I could not complain.
So I happily went upon my way,
A single butterfly had fixed my day.

poem - IF

If the world were to end tomorrow
do you know that I still love you?
Your smile and grace,
beauty and form.
It puts me in a trance:
Shines a light on my dark world
and your love defrosts my heart.
In sudden realization I know, deep inside,
exactly how much you truly mean to me.
How should I react to this? Anger, joy or sorrow?
What if I didn't react at all, if I just went numb?
Would you still love me then?
No matter what happens, tomorrow and beyond,
I'll always love you and be with you
in spirit, if not form.

Eerie little rhyme; jump in thought progression

As I was going up the stairs
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish I wish he'd go away

Personally, this is really catchy, but really creepy at the same time. I hum it to myself all the time without realizing it, only catching myself when it is already too late and I'm all weirded out. I heard it from a movie way back in the day, and later heard it being told to a bunch of kids during a scary story. It's strange how everything can always link to something else, thinking about this rhyme got me wondering what other ones i could think of.

Now I'm running over the novel Lullaby in my head! Good novel, if you're ever interested in a strange piece of work. The author is none other than Chuck Palahniuk, who achieved mainstream recognition and fame for his work Fight Club. If you enjoy a good read, there are some Palahniuk books I can recommend;

Fight Club
Rant
Lullaby

This is not saying his other works are not amazing, these just happen to be the ones I know the best. Fight Club actually was my go-to book if I was ever rattled, no matter if I was upset, or angry or anything; it always made everything better. I never understood why, but I'm assuming it had to do with a comforting feeling I got while reading it

Check them out, I vouch for them.
